Aug. 6, 2008 — Runnin’ Dirty (A feature on a local trail running group that I have since joined. The story inspired me.)

March 27, 2008 — There’s still a lot to talk about (One of the more personally heartbreaking columns I’ve written. This ran in the final edition of The Current before it closed up shop.)

Sept. 20, 2005 — A fun feature story I wrote about a high school rock band preparing for a Battle of the Bands competition. It was something completely different from what I usually write, and it was loads of fun.

July 14, 2005 — Remembering a legend (This story was the catalyst for the most in-demand issue ever for The Current.)

April 15, 2004 — 50 years ago, Kansan raced for a ‘Perfect Mile’ (This was a 1A feature I wrote for the Journal-World looking back at Kansas distance-running legend Wes Santee and the race to run the world’s first sub-four-minute mile.)

July 22, 2003 — Kids quest (This is another feature I wrote for the Capital-Journal, and it’s still one of the more meaningful pieces I’ve had a chance to write.)

Feb. 18, 2003 — High school stars are golden boys (This is the first major feature story I wrote for the Capital-Journal.)
